Custom Rigs
THE RIGHT RIG FOR YOUR SHOW—
BUILT AROUND THE THE BAND RUNNING IT
Hefty Sound Works designs and builds playback and in-ear systems around your band, your existing equipment, the way you run the set, and what you can realistically spend. Service pricing covers consultation, design, assembly, wiring, testing, and handoff. Equipment is purchased separately.
Rig-build prices cover consultation, design, configuration, assembly, wiring, testing, and labor. Equipment, hardware, cabling, cases, and software are not included and will be quoted separately before purchase.
ADD SOME HEFT TO YOUR LIVE RIG.
Phase 1 — PLAN THE SYSTEM
We review your band, show, existing equipment, routing requirements, and budget. Then we determine exactly what the system needs—and what it doesn’t.
Phase 2 — DESIGN AND BUILD
We select the equipment, document the complete system, create the wiring plan, and assemble the rig with clean, organized routing.
Phase 3 — TEST AND HAND OFF
We test the complete signal flow, correct problems, and walk you through setup and operation so your band can run the system confidently.
Testimonials
Gavin did a great job re-constructing our IEM and playback rig so we were tour ready. He was extremely detailed when describing the inefficiencies we had in our rig and how best to fix them. I would highly recommend him to any bands looking to upgrade and optimize their setup!

FLWERS
GOOD PLAYBACK DISAPPEARS INTO THE PERFORMANCE. THE BAND KNOWS WHERE IT IS, WHAT COMES NEXT, AND HOW TO KEEP THE SHOW MOVING.
FAQ
Does the service price include equipment?
No. Service pricing covers consultation, design, configuration, assembly, wiring, testing, and labor. Equipment, hardware, cabling, cases, and software are quoted separately before anything is purchased.
Can you work with equipment we already own?
Yes. We’ll evaluate your existing equipment and incorporate anything that fits the system safely and effectively. If something should be replaced or upgraded, we’ll explain why before recommending a purchase.
Do you build both playback and in-ear systems?
Yes. We build dedicated playback rigs, dedicated in-ear monitoring rigs, and combined systems that handle both playback and monitoring.
Can you design the rig without building it?
Yes. The $100 Rig Design service includes an initial consultation, equipment recommendations, a custom system design document, a wiring diagram, and testing or troubleshooting support.
How long does a custom rig take to complete?
Turnaround depends on the complexity of the system and equipment availability. You’ll receive an estimated timeline after the initial consultation and before the project begins.
Do you provide support after the rig is delivered?
Yes. Every design and build includes reasonable testing and troubleshooting support during setup and handoff. Ongoing changes, reconfiguration, or new equipment may require a separate quote.
Can the system be expanded later?
Yes. Whenever possible, we design around your current needs while leaving a practical path for additional inputs, outputs, playback capabilities, or monitoring equipment.
